California Waterfowl Veteran Hunt Program

California Waterfowl is proud to announce the Veteran Hunt Program. This brand new program offers exceptional opportunities to servicemen and woman at no expense to those veterans.  CWA has partnered with private duck clubs and landowners to offer these special opportunities.

Potential hunters will submit an application and apply for specific hunt dates and locations throughout California. Preference will go to wounded servicemen and women and to new, first-time waterfowl hunters.

California Waterfowl and the Department of Fish and Wildlife, through the Shared Habitat Alliance for Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Program, have partnered to offer special hunts on private lands. These opportunities are offered through CWA’s Hunt Program. The partnership will increase landowner participation and hunter access. The Hunt Program is an effort of CWA and SHARE to reverse the steady decline in hunter participation from a high of nearly 700,000 in the 1970s to less than 300,000 today.
The Shared Habitat Alliance for Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Program is a voluntary landowner incentive program administered by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Landowners may receive liability protection and compensation for providing public access to or through their land for recreational use and enjoyment of wildlife. The goal of the SHARE Program is to provide additional hunting, fishing and other recreational access on private lands in California. For more information please  go to the SHARE website at
