The 2015 Chemical and Biological Defense Science and Technology (CBD S&T) Conference is a “can’t miss event” for science and trade reporters, offering the opportunity to interact with members of the Department of Defense Chemical and Biological Defense Program , including Defense Threat Reduction Agency leaders, program managers as well as performers. We welcome your attendance at this unique gathering of S&T’s best and brightest! 

Media Registration Guidelines:

Complimentary registration is open to the media working full time for print, broadcast, or web publications with valid press credentials.

Valid press credentials required at the time of registration include at least one of the following:

  • A bylined article published by the employing news agency within the past six months
  • A copy of publication masthead listing the individual’s primary position as an team member 
  • Official photo identification issued by employing news agency or government

Bloggers will be considered for media registration on a case-by-case basis and must provide three of their most recent blog posts on topics related to basic or advanced research in chemistry or biology to be considered for media registration.

Freelance journalists may apply for media registration, but must present a signed letter on company letterhead from your assignment editor confirming your coverage of the event

Web-based, college, and freelance reporters are strongly encouraged to register in advance.

Please note that marketing executives, sales representatives, public relations executives, analysts, consultants, authors, and researchers may not register as media.

CBD S&T Conference reserves the right to deny media registration to any individual who does not meet the above guidelines, or limit the amount of media registrants from any one publication. 

Video & Photography at CBD S&T Conference:

Video recording/photography in conference exhibit hall for b-roll and standup purposes is allowed. Recording/photography of general sessions, individual sessions or requests for any video/photos beyond this scope should be coordinated with the communication team PRIOR to gathering any video/photos.

Interview Guidelines:

Department of Defense regulations require that any request to interview government attendees must be coordinated through the onsite DTRA Public Affairs team. All interviews requests will need to have prior approval by the DTRA Public Affairs team BEFORE being conducted.

For requests to interview non-government attendees, media should also coordinate with the on-site DTRA Public Affairs team.

Advance coordination is strongly encouraged and requests for interviews should be sent to and will be coordinated through the DTRA Public Affairs team.

Media Kits:

In an effort to create a more environmentally responsible media center, traditional paper press kits are no longer being produced.  Conference information is available via the web or from a variety of online locations.
