A Message From Kim: Greetings everyone! I hope you are ready for the Annual Women’s Conference at the Wynfrey! I am very excited you will be attending and about our schedule of events. On Wednesday, the 10th we will have registration from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. During this time we will again host Massage Therapy sessions with Massage Therapists from the Birmingham Area. We will also have some special vendors on Wednesday afternoon along with exhibits from the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association, we know you will not want to miss!
Our Regional Welcome Sessions will also be held on Wednesday Afternoon. Donya Lester from Indiana will be our guest speaker for our Wednesday Evening banquet. I think you will enjoy hearing this farm girl with southern roots.
On Thursday morning April 11th we will begin with breakfast where
Mitt Walker will share a legislative update. Then we will attend workshops with Kimberly Rider from St. Vincent’s Health Systems on Women’s Wellness; Judy Shepura and Katherine Barr will share some thoughts on Estate Planning; and Dewandee Neyman will host our Ag in the Classroom Workshop.
The Farm-City Awards Luncheon will be at 11:30, we will have a free afternoon followed by the conclusion of our conference with a dinner banquet and entertainment provided by “Allen Tolbert Unit”, which I am sure you will love! The evening's entertainment is sponsored by Alabama Ag Credit and Alabama Farm Credit.
One last thing I would like to share on behalf of the State Women’s Leadership Committee, is to remind you that pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham will be collected on Wednesday afternoon during registration. We will have a contest between counties again this year and keep a running tally of the amounts collected this year. Please bring your pop tabs in gallon sized zip top bags for easier collection and delivery. The winning county will be recognized during the Annual Meeting in December.
