Sheraton Anchorage Hotel
Anchorage, AK

Dear Conference Attendee,
Thank you for your interest in attending the Alaska Postvention Training & Healing Conference scheduled for June 9 -10, 2011.

The purpose of the Alaska Suicide Postvention Training  is to provide opportunities for Alaskans to meet and learn about the ongoing development of postvention resources, receive training and technical assistance for coordinated approaches for behavioral health emergency response and to learn best practices in suicide postvention. Community Action Planning (CAP) teams will also receive a facilitated training to develop community action plans for their respective regions and or communities. A Healing Conference will also be held in the evenings following the general training sessions to provide presentations from individuals on suicide loss, facilitate panel and small group discussion, provide educational resources and information for both professionals as well as survivors of suicide. The goals of this conference are:

  1. Learn how postvention efforts and activities can strengthen Alaska’s suicide prevention efforts
  2. Learn latest national research and developments
  3. Learn about suicide protocols, guidelines and best practices by Alaskans to provide accessible postvention and healing resources to every community
  4. Meet with other survivors of suicide loss for networking and mutual support

We are very excited about this opportunity to bring together a diverse and dedicated group of Alaskans to focus exclusively on suicide postvention and to join forces in a coordinated effort to respond to those experiencing suicide loss and also to reduce and prevent all suicides in Alaska.  There is no cost to attend this conference!  This conference is limited to the first 150 people to register. We look forward to seeing everyone at the conference.
Respectfully Yours,
