Since 9/11 the United States has strived to improve information sharing amongst agencies at all levels of government. Despite all of the progress that has been made, much is left to be done. Join the IJIS Institute National Symposium on “Information Sharing and Safeguarding for Justice, Public Safety and Homeland Security,” to hear from government information technology (IT) leaders and experts on information sharing practices, technology and standards that will move information sharing along the road to greater adoption.

The must attend technology briefing and training conference will be held January 15-17, 2014 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA. The three day event will feature keynote presentations from the Bureau of Justice and other government agencies, dedicated tracks on technical and operations management, and presentations and case studies aimed at Cyber Threats and Vulnerabilities; Cross-domain, Regional and Statewide Information Sharing; Federation - Implementation and Trusted Information Sharing Environments, and Secure Interoperability Surveillance Technologies – Policy and Use.

Attendees will benefit from:
  • Detailed sessions on information sharing and national initiatives that impact our nation’s safety and security.
  • Collaborative committee meetings on the challenges of information sharing in this difficult budget constrained environment.
  • Multiple breakout sessions for technical staff and executives.
  • Extensive networking opportunities with industry and government attendees.

Who should attend:
Executives, key decision makers, and software developers from the public and private federal, state, and local information technology communities who are interested in information sharing and safeguarding standards.

Media and press policy:
The objective of the IJIS Institute National Symposium is to provide a collaborative forum where government and industry executives may engage in a frank and candid exchange on issues of topical importance to the justice, public safety and homeland security IT community. Reporters and attendees are asked to not attribute any statement to any individual speaker or participants in any recordings, documentation or social media for dissemination beyond the session without obtaining the associated speaker's permission. If the participant does not consent, we ask all reporters and attendees to honor a "non-attribution" policy to preserve the Symposium as a completely open forum for meaningful exchange between government and industry.

Consent to use of photographic images:
Registration and attendance at, or participation in, IJIS Institute meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant for IJIS Institute’s use and distribution (both now and in the future) the registrant or attendee's image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such events and activities.
