Conference Overview
The recently enacted Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, commonly referred to as "Health Reform," will set in motion dramatic changes to the healthcare landscape. Florida's hospitals and health systems will be at the center of this whirlwind and will navigate the following issues:

« Substantial and unprecedented growth in Medicaid participation
« Significant changes to Medicare and Medicaid payments
« Adjustments in the private health insurance marketplace
« New requirements for charitable hospitals
« Transparency and regulatory requirements
« Improvement of quality and patient outcomes

With much ahead for Florida’s hospitals, FHA's federal advocacy team, including Holland & Knight professionals Lisa Tofil, Kate Leeson, and Rob Bradner, will lead three interactive seminars focused on better understanding the short-term and long-term implications of the new law, as well as discuss key questions for hospitals to consider as they engage in strategic planning.
