JCC Association's Financial Resource Development Department is hosting a Development Seminar this fall in New York City on Monday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 8, 2013. This two-day seminar is open to all Development Department Professionals, Executive Directors, Assistant Executives and Board Chairs and is the first of a number of seminars to take place within the USA.
The objective is to enhance and strengthen the skill sets and the relationships of the JCC fundraising teams in order to better achieve their fundraising goals. Included in the seminar will be:
Solicitation Training ... techniques and analysis of solicitations.
Research Profiles ... how to create, read, and analyze a prospect and determine the "right" ask.
Donor-Centered Fundraising ... case studies of the most successful asks.
Stewardship ... how to keep your donors happy, recognize their giving, and use this recognition for more gifts.
Capital Campaigns and the use of Planned Giving.
Presentation topics are presently being developed using the information compiled from prospective attendees. The following people are currently scheduled to present at the seminar this fall:
Laurence Rubinstein - former Senior VP Development at Brandeis and JTS.
Joel Breitstein - Trust and Estate Attorney; former Head of Planned Giving at the Baltimore and Palm Beach Federations and currently consultant to JCC Association.
David Valinsky - founder of David Valinsky Associates and a development consultant with vast experience in capital campaigns, feasibility studies, board development, etc. to JCC's, hospitals and currently consultant to JCC Association.
Jeff Metz - CEO, Bloom Metz Consulting; 10 years as a JCC Executive Director, with a wealth of experience relevant to all subjects working with JCCs, synagogues, social service organizations and other non-profits.
Bernett Belgraier - research professional with experience in teaching at NYU. Consultant to numerous outstanding non-profits.
Susan Bender - Senior VP Financial Resource Development at JCC Association, former Wealth Advisor at Bernstein and Merrill and former VP External Affairs at Manhattan School of Music.
