The Truth & Consequences of Living With Diabetes Free Workshop From Senior Connections

According to the National Institutes of Health, 10.9 million, or 26.9 percent, of U.S. citizens 65 years and older had diabetes in 2010. Even worse, 50 percent of the senior population is already pre-diabetic.

Senior Connections, a leading provider of home and community-based services for seniors is offering a new health workshop, “The Truth & Consequences of Living With Diabetes,” free of charge to seniors who currently suffer from Type II Diabetes.
Participation is limited due to the interactive nature of the class.

Registered dietitians will lead a 2-hour class at the Mack Love Community Center on March 3, 2012.

Class members will participate interactively to reach a better understanding of what diabetes is; how it affects the body and mind; what is myth and what is fact; and tools and exercises that can help a senior live independently and take care of their disease.

Seniors 50 years and older can register for either the morning session (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a chance to network with other members after class) or the afternoon session (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.).   PLEASE NOTE: There is very limited seating as a function of how the workshop operates. You will be asked to confirm your planned attendence one week before the event.
