IBD Day on the Hill 2011: Training the Next Generation of Advocates!
Our Young Patients are our future leaders and voices for IBD awareness. You and your family are invited to join CCFA for the Foundation’s 2011 IBD Day on the Hill where you can talk to your legislator and make an immediate difference in the fight against Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. You can help by telling your legislators, in person, how important IBD research and awareness is to you.
CCFA is inviting constituents who live in influential districts to attend this event. Since you live in the district of a targeted Senator or Representative, we ask you to join us in Washington May 25 - 26th.
Please help us gain support for IBD awareness in Congress by attending CCFA's annual IBD Day on the Hill.
Due to the targeted nature of this event, we have a limited number of spaces available. Because of the emphasis on training our future leaders, parents and young patients are especially welcome, and will receive priority. Please keep in mind that, once your district has been filled, you will be put on a waiting list to attend the event.
We will arrange for patients and family members to visit key health committee members in the House and the Senate to discuss with their legislators, first hand, the importance of this legislation and to ask for their support. All patient and family visitors will be trained and briefed by CCFA's advocacy experts before they make their visits.
New session added! This year, parents and young patients attending Day on the Hill will be invited to attend a new session designed specifically for young advocates. Led by CCFA's National Youth Leadership Council, our youngest advocates will learn helpful tools to use the next day while making legislative visits.
More detailed information will follow as the event draws near. We hope to see you in Washington D.C.!
