The National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) is excited to announce its 2011 Partnership Network Meeting: Celebrating NDEP Success:  Past, Present and Future. This event will take place on October 2-3, 2011 at the Emory Conference Center and CDC Tom Harkin Global Communication Center in Atlanta, GA.  As NDEP transitions into its new partnership structure and embarks on a new way of working together, the meeting will provide the opportunity to celebrate the many contributions and successes of the NDEP partnership that have brought us where we are today while also planning for future success.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ National Diabetes Education Program is jointly sponsored by the the Division of Diabetes Translation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases of the National Institutes of Health with the support of over 200 private and public partner organizations.

Meeting Goal:

The 2011 Partnership Network Meeting will engage, energize and equip partners to collaborate with NDEP in addressing the growing diabetes epidemic in a changing environment.

Meeting Objectives:

After the meeting, participating partners will be able to: 
  • Describe a win-win role in partnering with NDEP to address the diabetes epidemic.
  • Describe the NDEP resources and tools they will implement to address diabetes prevention and control in their communities.
  • Discuss effective strategies to assist in decreasing diabetes-related health disparities in their communities.

What's New This Year? 

  • NDEP past chairs panel, an opportunity to talk in an intimate setting with past NDEP leadership
  • The NDEP product theater, a designed area that will showcase NDEP products in an interactive way
  • Stakeholder groups' meetings, a chance to meet other NDEP partners with similar interests and discuss future activities
